Welcome to the EEA 2022 Officer elections. You are asked to vote for EEA Vice-President and EEA Council.

Voting will take place from Monday, September 27 to Sunday, October 24.

Only EEA members with active memberships can vote. Each member can submit one ballot sheet.

Fabiano Schivardi

Fabiano Schivardi is professor of economics at LUISS, where he has been Prorector for Research from 2018 to 2021. He is also a research fellow at the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF) and CEPR. He obtained his B.A. in Bocconi in 1992 and his PhD in Economics at Stanford in 1998.  

His main areas of interest are industry dynamics, productivity, and entrepreneurship. His more recent research has been focussed on the productivity divergence between Southern and Northern Europe, a theme on which he was awarded an ERC advanced grant in 20219. He is also working on the recovery of the productive system from the pandemic. During the sharp phase of the  pandemic, he devised a method to predict firm liquidity needs that has been used by various institutions to assess the adequacy of public debt guarantees introduced by EU Governments. He is now studying the effects of such schemes on credit supply.  

Prior to joining Luiss, he worked for the Research Department of the Bank of Italy, the University of Cagliari and for Bocconi University, where he held the Rodolfo DeBenedetti endowed chair in Entrepreneurship.   

His work has been published in leading academic journals, among which the  The Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Political Economy, The American Economic Review, the Review of Economic Studies, The Review of Financial Studies, The RAND. 

He consults for public and private institutions, among which the EU, the ECB, the Bank of Italy, the Italian Government. 

He has been awarded various  international and  national  research grants,  among which an ERC advanced grant and four PRIN (Research projects of national interest) from the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research.
