The Journal of the European Economic Association (JEEA) has a worldwide reputation for publishing articles of the highest scientific quality in theoretical and empirical economics for a global audience.
JEEA has an Impact Factor of 3.388 and is ranked 45/371 in the ISI Economics category (2019).
The current editorial team, managed by Imran Rasul, is committed to a careful and efficient editorial process. JEEA editors are chosen by search committees, called together by the EEA President. The EEA President sets up the search committees and takes care to ensure that the search committee is balanced in terms of gender, geography and field. The search committees in turn carefully consider gender, geography and field when when shortlisting candidates for the editorial positions. The shortlist is not public but is carefully reviewed by the EEA President, before invitations are sent out. The EEA Council formally appoint the JEEA editors.
The JEEA 2019 report, approved by the EEA members during the General Assembly, in August 2020, is available here. An updated report, presented to the Executive Committee of the EEA on March 24, 2021, is available on the same page.
JEEA is published by Oxford University Press. Six issues are published annually.
